What Makes a Tablescape Memorable

There are many elements that make a tablescape one to delight your guests.

Color Scheme:

Use the classic Valentine’s palette of red and white or pink and white. Consider gold accents for added elegance.

Linens:

Opt for soft, elegant linens in white, cream, or pastel shades. A plain white linen tablecloth can also work well.

Red or pink linens can instantly create a holiday theme. For a festive vibe, use a tablescape or place mats with patterns, such as checks, polka-dots, or heats.

For my most recent Valentine’s gathering, I used a new pink and white check tablecloth with a sweet tassel trim all around the edge. I’ll be able to use this tablecloth for spring and Easter.

Centerpieces:

  • A classic combination of rose bowls filled with flowers surrounded by candles creates a timeless romantic ambiance.
  • Use a decorative tray or mirror as a base to reflect candlelight.
  • Mason jars can add a touch of rustic elegance. You can arrange bouquets of roses or tulips in mason jars, wrap them with lace or ribbon.
  • A DIY floral ring with roses or faux tulips makes a modern, yet elegant centerpiece.
  • For a simple look, use white lanterns on wooden cutting boards, and add faux candles inside. Weave a garland of hearts around the lanterns.
  • Layer faux eucalyptus garland down the middle of the table for a natural look, then add vases, rose bowls, or mason jars with fresh flowers down the table.

Tableware:

Use elegant dinnerware in coordinating colors. Use your best china or create a casual look with plastic plates in a fun design suitable for Valentine’s Day.

Mixing and matching patterns can add visual interest and a festive touch.

Use sterling silverware and linen napkins for a more formal look, but paper napkins and plastic silverware can be substituted for convenience. Or mix them up for contrast and interest.

Enhancement Details:

  • Scatter delicate flower petals on the table for a romantic touch.
  • Add soft candlelight by scattering votive candles around the table.
  • Craft quick love notes and place them at each setting for a personal touch.
  • Fill mini cake domes with conversation hearts and place them in the center of each plate as party favors.
  • Use Hersey’s kisses in Valentine’s wrapping sprinkled around the table.
  • Use paper or felt hearts around the table.

Valentine Tablescapes: 5 Charming Ideas You’ll Will Love

Welcome to Bluesky Browsing #174.

Since I still love these fun and fabulous ideas for Valentine tablescapes, I thought you will too and would like a little Valentine table setting inspiration and tips.

Fabulous Idea for Valentine Tablescape by the Fireplace

This first fun and fabulous idea for a Valentine’s tablescape was very romantic. I set up a Romantic Valentine table by the fireplace for an intimate and romantic evening. Red and gold provided a rich color scheme, from the tablecloth to the inherited china to cute red lollipops. I brought out our best crystal and treasured silverware – doesn’t a fancy table setting deserve your very best?

Rose bowls, which I love to find at flea markets and garage sales, filled with red votive candles, added warmth to the evening.

The glow of the fireplace was a beautiful backdrop to this beautiful Valentine dinner. The rosé Champagne added a sense of festivity to a special occasion.

DIY red glitter boxes held a little favor for my best guy.

Valentine’s Tablescape for a Romantic Brunch

For this second fun and fabulous idea for a Valentine tablescape, I decided to try something a bit different.

I wanted to celebrate a Valentine brunch just for Sweet Shark and me on Sunday after church. For a more casual atmosphere, I set the table in our breakfast room.

Once again I used a rose bowl. Just one rose bowl provided the perfect size centerpiece for a small table. Check the post for how I filled it.

Vintage pink dishes from an antique mall in Atlanta set a casual tone for the place settings. I also used the pink napkins with pom-poms that I made.

The best part of this Valentine brunch for two was the delicious brunch I prepared. The menu is on the post for you. Of course, we served a special cocktail to toast the occasion.

Ladies Vintage Style Valentine Table

For this fun and fabulous idea for a Valentine tablescape, I planned this tablescape for a girlfriend lunch and it was a lovely experience.

Using a brass tray as a base, I filled a few rose bowls with roses and tulips for the centerpiece. I didn’t realize how often I used my rose bowls in tablescapes – I’m so glad I’ve collected them.  Some old roses dried in the oven are scattered on the brass tray.

For the dishes I used a collection of glassware that is vintage and inherited. This is the time to use any variety of pretty glasses that you have.

Of course, we had to have some sweets for the occasion.

Red and White Valentine’s Tablescape

Although I lean toward Valentine’s tablescapes with pink as the main color, for this tablescape I focused on a Festive and Fun Red and White Tablescape.

This festive tablescape was more casual with a fun vibe.
