17 Beautiful Spring DIY Floral Centerpiece Ideas

With spring in full bloom, what better way to celebrate the season’s freshness and vibrancy than by decorating your homes with stunning spring floral arrangements? How about 17 beautiful spring DIY floral centerpieces to choose from?

Flowers are the most iconic symbol of spring. In all their colorful brilliance, any type of flower announces that spring has arrived.

Any time of year is a great time to enjoy a DIY flower arrangement, but the spring season is especially fitting to add the perfect centerpiece.

Bringing the feel of a garden inside is one of the easiest ways to add a sense of the spring season to your home.

Types of Spring DIY Flower Arrangements

The types of flowers, styles, materials, and colors of flower arrangements have no limits. You can spend a fortune on unique flowers at a boutique florist shop or pick up a bunch at your local grocery store. Everyone loves the flowers at Trader Joe’s.

We were at our friends Cindy and Tom’s house earlier this week and Cindy had a gorgeous arrangement of lilies. It was the first thing I noticed when I walked in their home.

Creating Spring DIY Floral Centerpieces

In the articles I’m sharing in this roundup, you’ll find a variety of spring floral arrangements from easy to elaborate. Ideas from budget-conscious to more expensive, from simple to sophisticated.

  • Easy spring flower arrangements: Gather an assortment of your favorite spring blooms from your local florist or even your backyard garden. Mix and match colors and textures to create a dynamic visual display. Simply trim the stems to varying lengths and remove the lower leaves. Then arrange them for a chic centerpiece that captures the essence of spring.
  • Budget-friendly spring table decor ideas: Who says you need to break the bank to spruce up your table for spring? Get creative with budget-friendly containers (see below) like repurposed jars, tin cans, or even old teapots. Incorporate inexpensive filler greens like eucalyptus or ferns to add volume and texture.
  • Simple DIY spring floral centerpieces: Gather some basic supplies like floral foam, wire, and ribbon from your local craft store. Add a mix of fresh or faux flowers. Use moss to give your arrangement a professional and polished look. Get creative with shapes and sizes – think beyond the traditional round bouquet. Consider crafting a whimsical floral wreath centerpiece or a cascading floral runner for your dining table.
  • Inexpensive spring centerpiece tutorials: There are plenty of online tutorials and step-by-step guides (like some of the ones I’m sharing here) available to learn about flower arranging. From beginner-friendly videos to written instructions, you’ll find a wealth of resources. Experiment with different techniques, and don’t be afraid to put your spin on things. Don’t forget to use Pinterest for ideas.
  • Quick spring flower centerpiece crafts: Short on time but still want to add a touch of springtime charm to your home? Think about mini mason jar bouquets, single-stem bud vases, or simple floral arrangements nestled in woven baskets. These adorable creations can be whipped up in minutes and are perfect for adding a pop of color to any room.

Places to Use Floral Spring Centerpieces in Your Home

I can’t think of a place in our homes that wouldn’t benefit from a spring arrangement. Here are some suggestions:

  • Dining Table: Make mealtime extra special by placing a beautiful floral centerpiece as the focal point on your dining room table. A stunning arrangement will set the scene and create a warm, inviting atmosphere, whether it’s a formal dinner party or a casual family gathering. Having a vase or pitcher of fresh spring flowers in the center of the table when you are not entertaining will add beauty to your home for your daily enjoyment. This is our current dining room table centerpiece: three hyacinths from Trader Joe’s nestled in a vintage Japanese foot bath I bought at an estate sale.

  • Coffee Table: Add a touch of elegance to your living room or sitting area by placing a lovely floral centerpiece on your coffee table. It will brighten up the space and serve as a conversation starter for guests.
  • Entryway: Welcome guests into your home with a burst of springtime beauty by placing a floral centerpiece on a console table or entryway bench. It makes a memorable first impression and sets the tone for the rest of your home.
  • Kitchen Island: Add a big impact to your kitchen by placing a charming centerpiece on your island or countertop. It will add a pop of color to the heart of your home and brighten your mood as you prepare a delicious meal or wash the dinner dishes. Here is an orchid arrangement in an antique mall purchase – a chinoiserie-style cache pot that came with a saucer! It sits on our kitchen counter on a tray with soap and lotion and a small chinoiserie container I place my ring in. It makes me happy every day.

  • Bedroom Dresser or Nightstand: Bring a touch of romance and serenity to your bedroom. Place a small floral arrangement on your dresser or bedside table. Waking up to the sight and scent of fresh flowers will start your day off on the right foot.
  • Bathroom Vanity: The bathroom (whether your own or a guest bath) with its higher degree of humidity is a great place to add a lovely centerpiece. A single flower in a bud vase or glass bowl can add a touch of sophistication to the space. Sweet Shark and I always have an orchid on the vanity in our bathroom.

The types of flowers you use in your spring centerpieces are the most important element. If you are using flowers from your garden, that will play a role in your choice of arrangements. What’s available at your favorite florist or the grocery store also will determine what you use in your arrangement.

Flowers for Your DIY Spring Flower Centerpieces

The advantage of doing your own arranging is the ability to mix and match different blooms to create a unique arrangement. Let your favorite flowers and your style be your guide.

Flower Options

When arranging your flowers, you have so many options:

  • opt for a single type of flower in one color – here are yellow mums in a blue chinoiserie vase on our coffee table.
