A few weeks ago, I brainstormed and shared my list of ideas for simple winter decor with my subscribers on our Monday Memo. I thought I would share it with you.
Who doesn’t like easy things to perk up our homes? Ones that don’t take much time and don’t cost much.
As you can see, these are simple things that can freshen up our homes in the new year – or any time. They may take from a few minutes to a couple of hours.
- Gather magazines in a decorative basket.
- Add a pretty throw to your sofa (move from one room to another).
- Buy fresh flowers and arrange them on your coffee table, entry table or kitchen counter.
- Add a new framed photo – use a picture from over the holidays.
- Add a new candle to a tray on your coffee table.
- Add a potted plant anywhere in your home.
- Restyle your bookshelves with books, pictures, and decorative objects.
- Add new towels and bath mats to your master bathroom or guest room.
- Replace old outlets and light switch covers.
- Replace worn doormats with new ones.
- Add a small accent lamp to your kitchen counter, vanity, or entry table.
- Replace the soap dispenser in your bathroom or kitchen with a decorative one.
- Replace your kitchen towels with new stylish ones.
- Stack or rearrange a few decorative coffee table books on a coffee or side table.
- Add a table runner to your dining or kitchen table.
- Add an extra contrasting blanket or quilt to your bed.
- Place a basket for extra throws near the couch.
- Drape extra throws on the arm of a chair.
- Add scented candles or diffusers to enhance the ambiance.
