Why Organize Your Home in the Fall?

What made me start thinking about fall organizing?

Sweet Shark is moving his office home this weekend.

He and his business partner have been talking about this for months. Without the need for a secretary and no need for a conference room, supply room, and a reception area, it was time for both of them to office at home.

In fact, they both have been cleaning out files, supplies and furniture for a couple of weeks. Our garage already has a few file boxes.

Sweet Shark also bought himself a brand-new Mac. I’m a little jealous because his Mac (blue) is now newer than my Mac (pink). He has never had a Mac so he wanted a computer that I could help him with. (I spend a few hours transferring his data to the new Mac earlier this week.)

We do not have an extra bedroom for him to office out of. For now, (We’ll see how this officing at home thing works!), I will be sharing my sewing desk in our larger guest room with him.

To give him a few drawers in my sewing desk, I spent a few hours this week going through my sewing supplies, decluttering and organizing them into plastic organization containers.

It really was a job that should have been done ages ago. Now that it’s done, he has 3 drawers and I have 3 drawers.

He promises that when I need my sewing machine (I’ve been also making pillows this week.) that he will move his Mac over to one side and I can use my sewing machine. We’ll see how this arrangement works. Anyone want to take bets?

Anyway, that’s why I started thinking about fall organization. I know there are so many places in our home and in the garage that need to be decluttered and organized for better efficiency.

Before the holidays, I always feel like a good purging is a good thing. Once we start bringing in fall, then Halloween, Thanksgiving, and finally Christmas decorations, organizing goes out the door.
