Welcome to Our Cozy Christmas Bedroom
Want to see an earlier Christmas bedroom decorated for Christmas?
Let’s begin at our bedroom door. We have several Christmas door hangers. Almost every door has one.
Guess who is waiting to greet you? Nola can’t wait to show you our cozy red-themed Christmas bedroom.
Our Cozy Plaid Bed
This is the second year that I’ve used red as the primary color in our bedroom. Some things stayed almost the same, but there are several new decorations.
- A boxwood wreath above the bed is decorated with a bow I made using red check and silver mesh ribbon.
- For more color and pattern, I added a new plaid quilt and shams. The pattern is called Spencer. It adds a wonderful cozy feel to the room. I love that it is reversible.
- The snowflake square pillows are from Wayfair. These are different but just as cute.
- I made the red throw from flannel fabric I bought at Joann. Then I cut fringe at the ends.
- The red truck pillow on the bench is from HomeGoods.
- The Merry Christmas pillows are from Wayfair. Who doesn’t love the cutest dog curled up on the bed?
- The red felt Christmas tree garland has been on the mantel and around the table in our bay window. This year I wanted to give more color on our white quilted headboard. I love the cute pop of red.
- For our nightstands, I added a trio of Santas. These little guys get moved around the house every year.
Our Christmas Console Table
- On the console table across from our bed, I used a set of six gold candle holders and battery-operated taper candles with a remote.
- Vintage gold bottle brush trees from my favorite local antique mall sit on a plaid tartan throw.
- Several green picks and small ornaments fill in.
- The red reindeer is from Kailo Chic a couple of years ago.
Red Christmas Tree
For the second year in a row, I placed a faux white tree on the glass-topped table in front of our bay window.
A few years ago I bought a large piece of snowy-looking white fabric to drape over the table.
I use a combination of inexpensive red balls, vintage ornaments, and some of our collection of annual silver bells from Reed & Barton.
Then I top the tree with a bright red and wide bow with long tails.
TIP: Use the best wire ribbon you can, make bows, carefully pack them after the holidays (don’t stuff them into a box), and reuse them again and again. )
This year I added three little Santas at the base of the tree.
Nola had to say hi one more time. When she is not at the foot of my bed, I use the big red and white throw at the foot of the bed.
Here is the bedroom at night – oops – forgot to turn on the lights on the wreath!
I love how easy it is to light all the candles at once on the console table with the remote.
Blue and Silver in the Bathroom
At first, I planned to continue the red and white theme from the bedroom into the bathroom. But our blue walls and blue and white wall paper just demanded a soft blue theme.
I started with garland above our large Venice artwork. I added bows at each end made with blue velvet ribbon and skinny silver mesh ribbon.
In the center of the mirror, three glass ornaments tied with dusty blue wired ribbon finish off the big focal point.
You could easily do the same thing over your bathroom mirrors.
On both sides of our vanity, I used blue yarn trees and white Santas.
In the center of the vanity, I used a combination of greenery stems, including a few “sugared” ones that I recently bought on a trip to Atlanta. I’ve had the mercury glass planter for years. Isn’t that little bird a sweet touch?
The tray was an old frame that I painted blue/silver. I use it to hold perfume and jewelry.
For Christmas, I covered the base in faux snow.
Then I filled it with a few of my mother-in-law’s vintage Esteé Lauder perfume compacts. One is called Jester. These are considered collector items and I’m so happy I have them. I think we have about 25. I also added a couple of estate sale perfume bottles.
My small vintage marble-topped table is the perfect spot for a pair of white yarn DIY trees and one of our many Santas. The crystal lamp (It uses a battery spotlight.) is a long time favorite.
This teak bathtub tray is brand new. I’ve wanted one for years. I need a place for a candle, a glass of wine, and my book.
I decorated it with a Christmas candle, small gold and blue ornaments, and my sweet little felt birds.
A great place to relax after a long day decorating the house.
A brand new addition is a wreath on our large block glass window in the bathroom. This is a cedar wreath that I’ve had for a while.
I used blue velvet ribbon and one silver mesh ribbon to make a bow. Then I used a long string of silver beads to wrap around the wreath.
Even at night, it looks pretty.
I love our Christmas bathroom with the crystal scones on at night. It’s very sparkling, merry, and bright.
I hope you enjoyed the tour through these cozy master bedroom and bathroom ideas. I had fun decorating these two rooms that we spend so much time in.
