Tuesday Turn About Link Party 38

Welcome dear friends to Tuesday Turn About Link Party 38. Since last week’s party, we have had a sad time at our home. Last Wednesday we had to say goodbye to our sweet Lovely Layla. At almost 16, her back legs just gave out. It wasn’t a hard decision to make, but it has been hard to say goodbye and to be in the house without her.

Thank you to everyone on Instagram, my Monday Memo and in e~mail who have expressed their feelings of sadness. Anyone who has loved a dog and had to say goodbye knows exactly what we are going through. My heart breaks for everyone who has experienced the loss of a dear pet.

So we will move on. Having the blog to keep me busy has been a big help. Visiting all the wonderful projects you share is not only entertaining and inspirational but has kept my mind off of our sweet girl. This week was again chockful of great ideas and we are so excited to share this opportunity for you to share your blog with others.

Here is last week’s TTA Link Party 37.

Have a great week.

Tuesday Turn About Link Party 38 Weekly Features

Let’s get ready for spring by decorating our mantels. Pamela of DIY Vibes created this rustic springtime mantel as part of a monthly Pinterest Challenge (Julie, Michelle and I were also participants.) I love how Pamela combined rustic, natural elements for an laid~back spring style.

St. Patrick’s Day decorations don’t always have to be about leprechauns and shamrocks. Amber of Follow the Yellow Brick Home used simple green plants and interesting containers and cute decorations to create a scene fit for the Irish.

I thought this wreath by Kippi from Kippi at Home was one of the prettiest spring wreaths that I’ve seen. I loved how different it was ~ in fact, I’ve already ordered and received my wood hoop and split balls to make my own.

  1. Carol, I’m so sorry for your having to put Layla down. I can remember that sad experience as if it were yesterday. I’m glad you have positive distractions like blogging to help ease the sadness.

    1. You’re so sweet to mention Layla. It’s been very quiet the past week. I have to remind myself that I don’t have to make time to let her out or go for walks. Not having her wagging tail to greet us. It will get easier but she will always have a big place in our hearts.

  2. Me again,,,I almost forgot to mention how sorry I am to hear about the loss of your sweet fur baby…. I know how you feel losing a family member because that is what your sweet baby was….. We lost our sweet Savanna 10 years ago and I am just now considering getting another dog…. It has taken this long…
Sending prayers for you and your family during this time…
    Hugs,
    Deb

  3. Carol, I’m so sorry to read about your Layla. It’s so very hard to say goodbye. The elder of our two dogs will turn 15 next month and he’s having difficulty with his back legs. It’s so hard to watch his decline. But he’s a trooper and as long as he continues to enjoy life, we will help in any way we can.

  4. Oh Carol, I am so sorry to hear about about your loss. I can imagine how off balance you must feel this week. My prayers are with you. Thank you for the feature and I hope you take time for yourself here and there this week to start healing.

  5. Oh Carol, I am so very sorry for your loss of Layla. My Fibber McGee was only 10 1/2 when he suffered a stroke like event and I had to let him go at Christmastime. I know how hard it is to come home with the house feeling like all the air has left it. All those now empty spaces. I put up some framed pix of Fibber that make me smile everytime I look at them. And, volunteering at Animal Friends has helped lots too.
