Orange~Basil Cherries with Ricotta

Orange-Basil Cherries

An easy and quick not-too-sweet dessert using fresh cherries with a bit of orange flavor and herbal scent from basil served over Ricotta cheese.



  1. Place pitted and halved cherries in a medium bowl. Add the orange zest, juice, sugar, salt and chopped basil. Toss gently to combine.
  2. Cover bowl and chill for 1 hour.
  3. Remove cherries from refrigerator and allow to sit for 10 minutes.
  4. In serving bowls, spoon about 1/4 cup Ricotta cheese. Spoon cherry mixture over. Be sure to include some of the juices.
